The Woodlands has been chosen to host the prestigious Lancashire against Yorkshire County Championship match next May.
Rugby’s ‘Battle of the Roses’ will take place at Fylde’s ground on Saturday May 16.
The game will be accompanied by a superb 'Roses Ball', most likely to be held in a large marquee specifically installed for the purpose.
Michael Brennand, chairman of Fylde, said: "As a club we are very enthusiastic and supportive of County Championship rugby.
“We provide the coach, manager and a number of players to the Lancashire squad and we think that the tournament is very important in itself but also as a route to English Counties international opportunities for aspiring part-time, national league players.
"We plan to make this iconic fixture a real occasion and we have a number of ideas to encourage a large and enthusiastic attendance."
