Kirkham and Wesham Football Club have scored a major new shirt sponsorship deal as the club gears itself for the next stage of its ambitious growth plans.

Lytham-based International manufacturer, VetPlus, will sponsor Kirkham's football kit for the next three years as part of a five-figure deal with the club.

VetPlus manufacturers supplements for pets which are supplied via veterinary surgeons across the world.

It is currently the fastest growing business of its kind in the UK.

Chairman Dai Davis welcomed the investment.

He said: "As everyone in local football knows, we have big plans for this club and VetPlus' investment is a massive boost for us both on and off the field.

"VetPlus is a big local employer and an international business, so it's testament to the progress of our football club that such a prominent business wants to use us as a sponsorship vehicle."

Bo Bronserud, Managing Director, of VetPlus, said: "Kirkham and Wesham Football Club is a growing and entrepreneurial organisation based on the Fylde, so there is a strong correlation between it and VetPlus.

"Dai Davis and club president David Haythornthwaite have a clear vision for the club and it needs other local businesses to support the team and help them realise it.

"If the club's progress continues, it won't be long before we have two professional football teams on the Fylde which will be great for local pride.

"I know the club has a great future ahead of it and together we can do the fans proud."
