KENDAL dominated their match against visitors Liverpool University in North West Division Five (North) but still managed to lose.

The home side gave themselves a lot to do when, within ten minutes, two Liverpool short corners led to two goals.

Kendal pulled their collective socks up, organised themselves better and the game then began to take more shape yet, despite playing three strikers, Kendal struggled to create clear chances.

Their best of the game came with a crisply-struck short corner shot which Liverpool's keeper superbly parried away with his stick low to his right.

In the second half, Liverpool went 3-0 up with a straightforward pass across a packed area to an unmarked played who calmed prodded the ball in.

Kendal's midfielders increased the tempo and, with it, the number of good passes into the opposition area but, apart from when Dave Elleray deflected to score, they were to no avail.

The loss leaves Kendal eighth in the table, with a game in hand. They travel to bottom-of-the-table St Helens tomorrow (Saturday) hoping their luck will turn.

Windermere.................7 Formby 4th................. 0 NORMAL service was resumed at Troutbeck Bridge on Saturday, when Windermere Men beat Formby 4ths 7-0 in their NW Division Nine match.

After a slow start, skipper Dominic Quill joined the fray and opened the scoring with a shot into the bottom corner of the goal after a neat exchange of passes.

Mike Hodgson got the second with a reverse stick sweep from the top of the D and in the second half further goals came from Ed Waterhouse, Scott Santamera, Hodgson again, Dave Spiby and Sam Crompton.

The score might have been more but for some fine saves by the Formby goalkeeper, but victory re-established Windermere's position as clear league leaders.
