KIRKBY started strongly and Ambleside struggled to clear, but as they settled into the game, Kim Lupton and Gemma Crowther combined to push play into the opposition half.
Rachel Wilson and Becky Knipe worked hard to maintain pressure in the Kirkby half and Marge Munday and Sheelagh Newell were unlucky not to put Ambleside ahead going into the break.
In the second half, play was scrappy, but Ambleside kept up the momentum, and scored two minutes from time though a stunning reverse stick strike by player's player Lucy Mackereth.
