CROOK B beat Natland B to ensure their top flight survival in Division 1 of the Kendal and District League, while at the same time condemning Natland C and Dallam A to Division 2 next season.

It was only Crook B’s third win of the season, but their most important, winning 6-4 against their sixth-placed opponents.

Natland B. Bob Bagot and Colin Pratt fired Crook into a 2-0 lead with victories before Luke Biggins got Natland on the scoresheet with a 12-10 fifth-set success against John Wood, followed up by a victory for Roger Pimblett to make it 3-2.

Crook then took control as Colin Pratt won twice for his hat-trick, to add a second win for Bagot. Late victories for Natland for Clyde Johnson and Luke Biggins could not prevent Crook taking the doubles and a crucial victory.

Natland C’s place in the top flight came to an end as they went down 7-3 against Glaxo B. Callum Dymond and Keith Mallinson remained unbeaten, whilst Natland’s points came courtesy of Glaxo’s inability to field a third player.

Dallam A were relegated into Division 2 after an 8-2 defeat at the hands of Natland B. Clyde Johnson and Roger Pimblett won all three matches for Natland.

In Division 3, Crook C look almost certain to be crowned champions following a 24-12 victory against Kirkby Stephen C.

Paul Metsers and Chris Mowat won two games apiece, whilst Kirkby’s Tom Ellis was their man of the match with three wins.

Burton G are up to second in the table after a 29-14 battering of Natland F. Dave Salmon and James Burton excelled themselves with three wins apiece, while Danny Jackson chipped in with two.

Promotion however looks to be out of reach for Burton as Dallam E only require five points from their last match to secure second place and a spot in Division 2 next season.
