"SHEPSHED certainly came for a draw but after the last 15 minutes I can't believe we did not score. There was a wry smile on my face. Never have I seen so many chances go begging. There were the two headers by Paul McMenemy and Stuart Cliff and ultimately Peter Smith and Chris Bennett contrived to miss when it would have been easier to score.

"We lacked quality with Kenny Mayers and Lee Ashcroft out of the side and Dene Whittal-Williams not available. Foster picked up injury to his neck in the first ten minutes and had to soldier on bravely. When we lost Nigel Taylor to injury it was obvious it was not going to be our day, but if we had played all day Shepshed would never have scored.

"I couldn't fault the effort of the players in their attempts to get us a goal, however.

"For this weekend's trip to Ossett Albion Mayers is free of suspension and Ashcroft trained this week.

"I am hoping that Foster and Taylor, who are both having treatment, will be fit, but Whittal-Williams has a one game suspension. Ricky Mercer is having treatment for a very sore knee, and is 50-50.

"Ossett are in a similar position to ourselves in the league with aspirations of making the play-offs and it will be tough, but there are three vital points up for grabs and we will be going all out to get them.

"There are no new signings on the horizon, but with Stuart Cliff back from long- term injury and Chris Bennett now free of injury it is like having two new players. Cliff who came on as a sub on Saturday, could quite likely get a recall this weekend, while Bennett, who also came on as a sub, still has to make a start."
