A MANCHESTER United mad Kendal woman who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis will realise a dream tomorrow (Saturday) when she returns to watch her heroes at the club's Theatre of Dreams' stadium for the first time since her childhood.

Tina James, of Edgecombe Close, will travel down the M6 to Old Trafford with friend and former carer Sheila Stafford for the Premiership clash with Birmingham City.

For Ryan Giggs fan Tina the trip will be her first visit to see The Reds since her childhood, when she went with her dad to matches before moving away from the Manchester area.

Now the 42 year old is counting down the days until Saturday, when she will join around 70,000 football fans to cheer on her heroes yet again.

"I was so shocked when Sheila said we were going, I had no idea she was going to do something like that," beamed Tina.

"I'm very excited at the moment but I will start getting nervous once we reach Saturday."

For Sheila - who cared for Tina when she worked for a local care agency until a few years ago the match will be more about her friend rather than the football.

She organised the trip after asking Tina, who has suffered from MS for nine years, what would she like to do if she had one wish.

"I'm just so pleased because Tina really deserves it," said Sheila, who has never been to a live football game before.

"I don't enjoy football and I don't support anyone but I will be supporting Tina on Saturday.

"If she is happy then I'll be happy."

The two will be travelling down in a disabled-friendly car borrowed from friend Ian Graham, from Kendal, who Sheila thanked for the kind gesture.
