BEN Waller, the Assistant Professional at Kendal Golf Club, has been recognised as the top student for the North Region by the PGA.
The award is a new init-iative sponsored by TGI to reward the top assistant professionals in each region for their respective year of study.
Ben is pictured above receiving a cheque for £250 from Parnell Riley, Captain of the PGA.
Ben, who has recently completed his second of three years of study, said: "It's nice to be rewarded for all the hard work I have put into the course."
He thanked Head Professional Peter Scott and the members of Kendal Golf Club for their continued support.
Scott, who finished in the top 20 in the North Region Order of Merit in 2007, added: "I am proud of what Ben has achieved during his time on the course and with me at Kendal.
"His work with the junior section of the club is outstanding and I wish him well for his final year of study."
