GIRLS football in Cumbria is set to take another step forward in its development under the auspices of the Westmorland and Cumberland FAs.
The County Under-16 Girls League is now into its second year and there is a strong possibility that a new county-wide league for women, supported by Tesco and the National Sports Foundation, could start in September.
There will be a meeting taking place on Monday, March 10 at Frenchfields, Penrith to discuss the plans for the future.
This meeting will begin at 7pm and is open to anyone who has an interest in kick-starting the women's game in the county.
Opportunities to play in order to build up to this league are already in place, with the second year of the FA Umbro 5's competition in May being the first.
If you're interested in getting more information or would like to attend the meeting, please contact Helen Aitchison, Girls & Women's Football Development Officer on 01539 730946 or Helen.Aitchison@WestmorlandFA.com
