COUNTY started well, but it was not until the 20th minute that they took the lead when Kris Clough ran from the halfway line then unleashed a 25-yard shot, which bobbled, wrong-footed the keeper and ended up in the bottom corner of the net.

The advantage was doubled when Craig Walmsley delivered a curling corner right under the bar when Oliver Wilson got the final touch.

Just before half-time Coniston, who had not been in the match until then, pulled a goal back when a free-kick into the box fell kindly for Phil Edmondson to tap in for 2-1.

The goal spurred on the home side and the opening of the second half was keenly contested until Jamie Close attacked down the right before putting Sean Palmer through. He danced round the keeper to net for 3-1.

Mid-way through the half Walmsley delivered an accurate free-kick for Phil Hodgson to rise and head in County's fourth.

With time running out another free-kick quickly played saw Wilson clean through on goal only to be brought down by the keeper. Walmsley netted the spot kick to round off a comprehensive victory.
