GRIZEDALE Forest will roar to the sound of rally cars tomorrow (Saturday, March 2) when the Malcolm Wilson rally hits some of the most difficult stages in its annual tour of Lakeland. The rally starts from Cockermouth at 8.30am. The cars will reach the first of the two Grizedale stages (South) at 11.30am before returning to the north of the county in the afternoon for further forest stages in the Whinlatter area.

KENDAL Rugby Club, unbeaten at home this season, will hope to continue the run when they entertain Huddersfield at Mint Bridge tomorrow (Saturday). This North Division One match kicks off at 2pm. Meanwhile Kirkby Lonsdale, who are rapidly closing in on the North Lancashire Division One title, are at home in Underley Park for a key clash with second-placed Eccles. Kick-off is at 2.30pm.

ON THE football front Kendal Town, still dangerously close to the relegation zone in the UniBond Premier League, face a tough away trip to table-topping AFC Telford United.

RACING fans are looking forward to the Cheltenham Festival later this month and Carlisle Racecourse plans to whet appetites with a preview at 6pm next Tuesday (March 6) when jockey Tom Dobbin will be a speaker. That is followed next Thursday (March 8) with a National Hunt day at Carlisle. First race at 1.50pm.
