A Lancashire jeweller has brought a world famous luxury wrist watch collection, worth in excess of £3 million, to the Lake District.

Leonard Dews, which has stores in Lytham, Blackpool and the Isle of Man, is the only jewellers in the region to host the collection by world famous watchmaker, Patek Philippe.

The prized lot, which has clocked up more than 700 miles to land in the region from its birthplace in Basel, Switzerland, made its debut at an exclusive preview evening at the Miller Howe.

Prospective purchasers travelled from across the North West to preview the collection, which includes a £106,000 diamond set Nautilus gents watch with power reserve, a £96,940 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph watch set with baguette diamonds, and the new £22,000 ladies diamond and steel Nautilus timepiece.

Under normal circumstances, because the watches have a collective value of more than £3m, customers can not usually view the collection in its entirety.

After previewing the collection, the 60 guests were treated to a four-course meal at the Miller Howe’s restaurant, which boasts views across Lake Windermere.

Leonard Dews owner, Michael Hyman, said: “I’m very excited to have brought this rare and exciting bounty to the Lake District.

"Windermere provided the perfect backdrop for these beautiful watches."
