The Conservatives have selected their parliamentary candidate for the Fylde constituency.
Scottish born Mark Menzies will contest the seat vacated by current MP Michael Jack who is retiring at the next election.
Mr Menzies, 37, who currently lives in Leeds, was selected after an eight-hour selection meeting of the Fylde Conservative Association.
At previous election he has attempted to win seats in Glasgow Govan in 2001 and Selby, West Yorkshire in 2005.
He is currently employed by supermarket chain Morrisons in marketing.
Fylde has been represented by a Conservative MP for more than 60 years.
