An elderly grandmother had to be taken to hospital yesterday after her home in Wesham was almost completely destroyed by fire.
The 88-year-old householder was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after the blaze at her bungalow in Weeton Road, at 4.40pm.
Fire crews from South Shore, St Annes, Lytham and Wesham attended the scene.
They spent more than four hours tackling the fire and damping down.
The property larely collapsed in the fire.
An investigation has has now been launched to determie the cause of the blaze.
