The design for a new £40,000 skatepark has been agreed this week.
The skatepark, to be built on Fleetwood Road playing field, Wesham, near Blackpool, is funded by Fylde Borough Council and Fylde Vision.
It is expected to be open by the end of this month.
Following consultation between local skaters and the council the design pictured, from GBH Ramps, has been selected.
The finished skatepark will be open to all wheeled sports users.
The skatepark has been supported of the Town Council in Wesham.
Councillor Simon Renwick said: "I am delighted that this project is going ahead, it has been a long time coming.
"Many people in Wesham and Rural Fylde have spoken to me about getting a skateboard facility and now it has become a reality.
"I am grateful for Fylde Vision in providing some of the funds and I was also happy to commit the remaining funds from Fylde Borough Council's young person's facility capital budget.
"I had no problems supporting this venture.
"I also think the Town Council need a mention as the land owners for allowing this to go ahead.
"I look forward to it being opened and used."
