THREE immigration offenders have been arrested and are set to be deported after being caught working in South Lakeland restaurants.
The three Bangladeshi men, aged between 20 and 30, were arrested last Thursday in Ambleside and Bowness after raids by the UK Border Agency.
The agency said that two were discovered at the Tagore Restaurant, Ambleside, and the third at The Emperor of India, Bowness.
All three are now on immigration bail while arrangements are made to remove them from the UK.
Three others were arrested in similar raids across the county.
They are also awaiting deportation for immigration offences including illegal working and overstaying visas in Maryport and Workington.
The enforcement operation was part of planned nationwide action by the UK Border Agency to tackle illegal working, sham marriages, bogus colleges and organised immigration crime.
