THE Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has been awarded £122,000 from the Countryside Agency towards a programme of works in the Three Parks and Lower Wharfedale areas. The money, which comes from the Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund, will be used for stonewall restoration on the Settle to Carlisle Railway as well as projects to improve footpaths, bridleways and wildlife habitats in the Three Peaks. The grant will also fund projects in Wharfdale and the appointment of a Three Peaks project ranger to oversee the work. Alan Hulme, a regional manager with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, said that the new funding would benefit the landscape and local communities.
