SIR, Would the councillors who recently awarded themselves quite a large increase in salary take a look at all the rubbish between the Kendal boundaries from the A6 and the road from Westmorland General Hospital to the centre of the once beautiful town.
As a true Kendalian I was once proud of our town but now I am ashamed, especially when considering what our visitors might think.
Perhaps the increases would have been better spent on a couple of road sweepers.
