FAMILY-run sports shop B.L. Intersport is to close its Kendal store after 20 years because of the economic situation in the town. Three full-time and one part-time staff will lose their jobs when the store closes on January 18. Managing director Chris Lewis said factors, including the disappearance of major employers, the town's new traffic system and foot-and-mouth had forced the firm to close the Finkle Street shop and concentrate on its Barrow store.
