A NEGLECTED area of Kendal could be in for a makeover with plans to build a new footbridge over Blind Beck, in Kirkland.
Recently the area was cleared to remove overgrown vegetation, rubbish and stone as part of a package of improvements for the area.
Planning permission is being sought for a new footbridge to provide a pedestrian link between Peppercorn Lane Car Park and Abbot Hall Park.
The scheme is expected to cost between £15,000 and £20,000 and is being funded as a capital project by South Lakeland District Council.
Part of the proposal would involve a wall being replaced with railings and lighting to improve the appearance of the area for residents and visitors.
