SEDGLEY Park visit for a rearranged home match this Saturday and the fourth-placed outfit will provide a rigorous examination of Kendal's new-found confidence, writes Richard Daniels.

Kendal only scraped through their crucial battle with Newbury last weekend by a hair's-breadth after Mike Scott scored all 12 points with his boot, so there is plenty of improvement still to be made.

A 29-0 defeat at Sedgley Park at the end of November was a dismal effort, and Kendal coach Neil Rollings hopes his side can show they have left that sort of form behind.

He said: "We were well beaten at Sedgley and they are going well and stuffed nearly 70 points into Launceston last week, so they will be formidable opponents.

"But we have improved since the teams met last and playing at home in the unique conditions of Mint Bridge, we will be out to maintain the momentum the side has created."

Kendal's latest win cut to two points the gap to Wharfedale, who themselves entertain Newbury this Saturday. Fylde are at leaders Henley Hawks and Launceston, the other bottom five club, are without a fixture.
