AN EXPLOSIVE mix of spiritual Afro-Mandinka music with a twist of jazz is heading for Kendal courtesy of Jalikunda. Hailing from Casamance in southern Senegal, the band was formed by Solo Cissokho who united all the members of his family to share their experiences from around the Diaspora area. Their experience and vitality brings inspirational sounds inspired by the deep roots of traditional African music, percussion, song and dance to Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre on May 9, 8.30pm.
