WANNABE stars in the Lancaster area are being offered the oppor-tunity to take a screen test...

Anyone with a talent for acting and the ambition to get their face on the big or small screen can get in line.

It could lead to work in television dramas, commercials or feature films for people with the right look and voice.

The test comes courtesy of an Acting for Film and Television training course to be held in the city's Royal Kings Arms Hotel on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20.

Just 10 places are up for grabs on the course organised by The Film Actors Workshop and led by Shane Munro, film producer and actors' agent.

He says participants must be over 16 but there is no upper age limit - and over-40s are especially welcome.

The aim is to teach tricks of the trade to people interested in getting acting work in television and films - and two people with no previous camera experience ended up playing lead roles in a major US series after recent workshops.

Shane says the workshop comes highly recommended by leading casting directors and is regarded as being a useful fast track' route to getting work in film and tv.

He warns, however, that the course which starts at noon and goes through to 7pm each day is quite intensive.

Booking is essential. For more details and to book a plac send an e-mail to filmactorsworkshop@eircom .net
