KIRKBY Stephen's very own Mulberry Bush is set to blossom brightly again from tomorrow (Thursday).

New owners the Plows family moved up from Birmingham at the beginning of October and have been busily preparing for the re-opening of the popular Mulberry Bush Tearooms and Gift Gallery ever since.

Catherine and Darrol, along with year-old-daughter Jessica and family dog, Boston, came on holiday to Kirkby Stephen last February. They quickly fell for the charm and beauty of the area and the friendliness of the local people and decided that they would like to become a permanent part of the local community - rekindling their northern roots.

As fate would have it, their dream became a reality when they bought the Mulberry Bush Tearooms and Gift Gallery and they will be reopening for business from 10am tomorrow.

Having both had past experience of hospitality and catering, Darrol has spent the last few years in the automotive industry while Catherine has worked within the education sector before becoming a full-time mum. Now they are looking forward to the challenges ahead and are happy that former owner Margaret Weir will be joining the team.

Along with a warm reopening welcome from Catherine and Darrol, customers can expect to see fresh additions to the menu and an enchanting array of new gifts available for Christmas.
