TIME is running out to nominate voluntary groups for a prestigious Queen's Award.
The prize is presented annually to groups who devote their time to improving the quality of life for others - and the deadline this year is September 30.
Lancaster's St John's Hospice was among the winners of a Queen's Award last year - and before them it went to Cancercare, also based in Lancaster, in 2002.
Groups can be nominated by representatives of public bodies or people who have benefited from their work.
Forms can be obtained from www.queensawardvoluntary.gov.uk or by calling 0845-0002002.
