A WOMAN needed hospital treatment after being attacked and robbed in broad day-light on Morecambe promenade.
The 39-year-old was pulled to the ground and kicked in the head and body by another woman, who seconds earlier had been chat-ting to her.
Now police are appealing for witnesses to the attack.
The woman, who has not been named, went to hospital suffering from shock, bumps to the head and stomach pains. She was released after treatment.
The attack happened on the busy promenade just before 5pm on Saturday when the attacker - who was with a man with a Scottish accent - approached the woman and started talking. Suddenly she pulled her to the floor by her hair before kicking the shocked victim several times.
She then ran away with the woman's black handbag containing cash and a Nokia mobile telephone.
