I WAS delighted to read that the police are clamping down on rogue dealers at car boot sales (Citizen, July 22).
Last Bank Holiday, my eight-year-old daughter and I went to Westgate Wanderers' regular car boot sale and parked next to one such dealer.
From 9am to 11am he sold raffle tickets for an unnamed charity with the chance to win a car CD player. At around 11am, he decided the raffle was in aid of the NSPCC, but at 1pm he began trying to sell the CD player for £40.
I immediately rang the police with his description, location and car registration number but after 45 minutes he sold the CD player and went home.
My daughter and I waited until 2.30pm, but the police did not arrive and have never been in touch with me.
