TWO men have got together to book their place in Morecambe FC history quite literally.
Official club historian Lawrence Bland and former journalist Derek Quinn, pictured right, have produced a potted history of the Shrimps under the title The Light at the End of the Tunnel'.
It gives details of almost every player who has turned out for the club since it was formed in 1920 and provides in-depth information about the club's record in leagues and cups.
A host of former Morecambe players, including some who helped the Shrimps lift the FA Trophy in 1974, were due to be at the launch yesterday (Wednesday).
Derek, who has supported the club since he was about seven, says: "Over the years I have seen how much research Lawrence has done into the history of the club and I always thought it would make a book that the supporters would be interested in. He has spent years researching and there are some great tales to tell along the way.'' The Light at the End of the Tunnel is published by 90 Minutes Publications at £12.99. Every book sold will provide a donation towards club funds.
