MORECAMBE motor cycle racer Glyn Ormerod is back at the top of the New Era Superclub British Championship after a fantastic weekend at Snetterton, writes David Holleley.
Ormerod, pictured, was well off the championship but four wins in four races over two days has catapulted him back into pole position. He now holds a nder nine-point lead at the head of the table.
The first race on Saturday was a keen contest between Ormerod and former leader Rick Ellis, with Ormerod's technique round the sweeping curves and chicanes keeping him in front until Ellis crashed out in his bid to overtake.
In Saturday's second race Glyn was challenged for the lead by Steve Tomes but powered his way to his second win of the day.
Race one on Sunday again went according to plan as the local rider set the pace from the start to score a win.
Race two, however, saw Tomes contesting the lead at every corner until, on a breathtaking last lap, Ormerod made an audacious move on the last corner to storm to a fourth win and clean sweep.
Round eight is at Oulton Park, Cheshire, on August 7.
