A CAR fire which ripped through the third floor of a shopping centre car park is being treated as arson by police.
Firecrews were called out to the burning Corsa at the Westmorland Shopping Centre's multi storey carpark, Kendal, at 4am yesterday morning.
Armed with breathing apparatus Kendal firecrews spent more than an hour bringing the blaze under control.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said the smoke-damaged carpark was closed to check for structural damage and added the fire was being treated as arson.
