SAFETY-CONSCIOUS councillors at a meeting of Windermere Parish Council have once again discussed the installation of two new pedestrian crossings in the town.
Prime positions near the town's cinema and St Martin's Church have been discussed in the past, but members fear their implementation could be impractical and potentially confusing.
Coun Jennifer Jewell said a safe crossing is "vital" with a large number of pedestrians approaching the cinema on Lake Road.
"Lots of people need to cross around here to go to the cinema, shops, and play area. It is a long way to the nearest crossing," she said.
But while Coun Richard Ogden said he was "very much in favour" of them, he expressed concern over the practicality of a zebra crossing outside the church.
"This could prove impractical," he said.
"A crossing will only cause confusion when there are weddings, funerals and other functions at the church."
Members agreed the exact positioning of any pedestrian crossing should be determined before a decision is made.
