A SPECIAL brand of comic madness is coming to the Dukes in Lancaster next week - in the shape of Very Little Women.
Award-winning comedy duo LipService - Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding are bringing their own unique take on Louisa May Alcott's classic novel of four sisters making their own entertainment during the American Civil War.
The show promises to be charming but mischievous'.
Audiences will be invited to join the sisters as they crochet dishcloths for the poor and needy who would really rather they didn't and as they anxiously await news of father away at the war.
LipService has a long history of re-inventing the classics, with their works including Withering Looks, a slice of life with the Bronte sisters, King Arthur & the Knights of the Occasional Table.
Most recently they presented Women on the Verger, an Aga Saga nominated for a Manchester Evening News award.
Lipservice presents Very Little Women with Chester Gateway at the Dukes on Moor Lane, Lancaster, on Friday and Saturday next week, March 5 and 6, at 8pm.
