The vet charity for pets in need, PDSA, is appealing to the public to join #TeamPDSA for the 2025 London Marathon.

PDSA Fundraising Manager, Faye Waters, said that the country has been gripped by "running fever" and she is encouraging animal enthusiasts nationwide to "get their running shoes on and run for pets in need next year."

The TCS London Marathon, having hosted over 1.25 million participants since the event's inception in 1981, is globally revered.

The marathon is scheduled for Sunday, April 27 2025, attracting masses from around the world.

Ms Waters said: "It’s not just bragging rights up for grabs by being part of the event."

"By joining #TeamPDSA, you’ll be a part of something really special, and know you’re contributing to a world where no pet suffers because of financial hardship."

To encourage maximum participation, she asks "proud pet ‘paw-rents’ or animal lovers," to apply before the ballot closes on April 26 2024.

Should hopefuls miss out on a place, the dedicated PDSA team still has limited places allocated specifically for their cause.

As the most extensive veterinary charity in the UK, PDSA keeps families together by offering free and economical vet care through 49 pet hospitals nationwide.

In 2023, the charity granted over 2.2 million veterinary treatments to more than 430,000 pets and reached an impressive 6.1 million people with expert pet care advice.

Running entirely on public generosity with no government funding, PDSA is inviting you to register for £100 and pledging to a minimum of £1,900 in fundraising.
