WORK has begun to 'level out' a busy car park next to Bardsea beach.
The car park is on the A5087 Coast Road, which runs between Ulverston and Barrow.
It is owned by Westmorland and Furness Council and is the home of Roy's Ices and Chill and Grill. Much of the car park is gravel with a grass verge separating it from the start of the beach.
A spokesperson from the council said its teams are levelling out the surface of the car park using existing site materials to reduce the number of potholes and depressions.
The work is expected to be completed today (April 24).
