A man that has been arrested on suspicion of trying to burgle a private garage in Windermere has been barred from entering the county.
South Lakes police confirmed it had received reports of a trespasser inside a private garage on Tuesday, February 6, trying to steal property.
Officers attended and managed to find the man close by.
Police found the suspect was wanted for two offences in another force area and was subsequently arrested for those offences.
A spokesperson for South Lakes police said: "During the course of the day two further offences were reported to Police by local businesses and the same male was identified as being involved.
"The male has since been interviewed and bailed with conditions not to enter the County of Cumbria whilst colleagues from Kendal CID continue to investigate.
"Please make things as difficult as possible for thieves and burglar's by ensuring that doors are locked at night, sheds and outbuildings are secure and that any external lighting and CCTV is clean and fully working."
