A CARNFORTH school was delighted to welcome the Town's Mayor to see their work completed by their students since lockdown.
The ArtyBird, which was established in 2007, is a well respected education centre which focuses on the delivery of Creative Textile & Art education.
On June 25, the school welcomed Mayor Chris Smith for his first official visit, and showed him the work the school had completed.
Alison Seddon said: "ArtyBird Carnforth were delighted to welcome Carnforth Town Mayor, Cllr Chris Smith, and actual people to their third 'ArtyFest' the previous two having to be hosted virtually.
"It was a celebration of the work produced by their students in the last twelve months.
"The Mayor was very interested to learn of the teaching that we do and also enjoyed a demonstration of Acid Dyeing by The Threshing Barn, who had a pop up shop at the event.
"The exhibition included examples of work from all of their City & Guilds Accredited programmes in Felt Making, Weaving, Embroidery, Creative Textiles, Creative Dressmaking and Creative Dyeing and Printing.
"There was also some previews of Summer Schools happening in July/August with some Indigo Dyeing and Tapestry Weaving on display.
"Summer Schools are filling up fast but you can still book a place and there is some space available on the Accredited programmes starting in September."
