POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a bread delivery lorry collided with a barn in Endmoor early today.
The 46-year-old driver of the vehicle, who is from Wigan, had to be cut free from his cab by firefighters. He was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary suffering from head injuries.
A police spokeswoman said no one else was injured in the collision, which happened at Endmoor Farm on the A65, but the barn was extensively damaged.
The road was blocked for four hours following the accident, but single line traffic is now operating at the scene while structural engineers carry out an inspection of the farm building and undertake emergency repairs.
Anyone with information about the accident should contact Kendal police on 0845 3300247.
