THE unique beauty of the Furness rail line is set to enthral over one million television viewers in Japan and the Far East.
The line, which travels from Carlisle to Carnforth via the west and south coast of Cumbria, will be featured on Euro Train - a programme produced for a satellite channel with more than 20 million subscribers.
The series, which could be aired in Japan before the end of the year, showcases interesting and scenic train journeys for Japanese holidaymakers.
Tony Potts, chairman of the Copeland Rail User Group, accompanied the five-strong film crew on their journey around the Cumbrian coast.
After setting out from Carlisle, they travelled through Whitehaven, Seascale, Ravenglass, Bootle, Millom, Barrow, Dalton, Ulverston, Grange-over-Sands, Arnside, Silverdale and carnforth.
