A SOUTH Lakeland company is in the running for a national award for one of its most innovative - and top-selling - products.
Sting in the Tail has been shortlisted for one of the categories in the annual Gift of the Year Awards, run by the UK's Giftware Association, the national trade body for the gift and home industry.
The Furness firm's biodegradable picnic set has been selected in the eco-friendly gift section of the awards, which aim to recognise the latest, most original and creatively designed gift products.
Katie Holmes, boss of Sting in the Tail, believes the innovative design of the picnic set, which uses a by-product of the cassava industry, helped to impress the award judges.
