DELIGHTED mountain rescue team members in Cumbria have welcomed news that Prince William has agreed to become patron of the Mountain Rescue Council England and Wales.

Nick Owen, leader of Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, said it would bring benefits to mountain rescue teams across the area.
