BUSINESSES can benefit from operating within national parks, according to new research supported by the Friends of the Lake District.
A study conducted in three national parks in Yorkshire and Humberside by the Council for National Parks concluded there were considerable economic benefits for businesses from being located in protected land-scapes.
More than half of the 300 businesses questioned in the survey felt national park designation had a positive impact on their operations, while more than a quarter felt that a deterioration in landscape quality would seriously affect business.
