LAKE District National Park Authority planners have rejected a proposal to demolish outbuildings and erect a residential care annexe in the grounds of Rose Cottage, Rose Cottage Lane, Windermere.
Mr J. Laidler had submitted the application because he had recently become confined to a wheelchair and could not easily live independently in Rose Cottage.
No information was submitted to indicate how the detached annexe could be tied to the main house as a single planning unit, and last April the development control committee refused an application for a mobility bungalow on the site because it would represent "an unacceptable intensification".
