SONGS by one of the greatest rock groups of all time will echo around The Lakes School hall as students put on Tommy this week.
Arguably one of The Who's finest moments and featuring fabled rock tunes such as Pinball Wizard, I'm Free and See Me, Feel Me, it promises to be a highly energetic, exciting, inspiring production staged at the Troutbeck Bridge school, filled with music and dance, and runs tonight (Friday, 7.30pm) and tomorrow (Saturday, two shows 1pm and 7.30pm) with pinball machines, dances, cinematography throughout and props and cast galore.
Charlie Cook plays Tommy, Jessica Jeffrey is Mrs Walker, and Jack Wyness takes the role of Mr Walker.
The legendary outfit's rock opera about Tommy - the deaf, dumb and blind kid who finds success at the pinball machine - was immortalised by its front man Roger Daltrey in the 1970s film of the same name.
Tickets are £5 and £3 and available from Fleurtations flower shop, in Windermere, or from the school office on 015394-62470.
