Tickets for Blackpool's play-off semi-final games against Oldham have been in more demand in the town this week than Nintendo Wii's were at Christmas.

This is on the back of the Seasiders' magnificent end to the season, which saw them finish in third place in League One after an incredible 6-3 victory at Swansea last Saturday.

The win helped Oldham to stay in the final play-off spot, and the two North-West teams will now battle for a place in the final as Pool over-took Forest on the last day. Forest will play Yeovil in the other semi.

The scintillating run of form that has seen Pool win their last seven matches, and lose only one of the last 14, has made them the side that is feared going into the play-off show-down.

Form is often converted into play-off success, and the Seasiders are the one side of the four that will hit them on peak form.

There are no guarantees in knock-out football, but the Seasiders go into the winner takes all scenario in fine fettle.

It all seems to have come together for Simon Grayson and his men, as the season has drawn to a close.

Wes Hoolahan and Andy Morrell, who were both affected by injuries after Christmas, have both worked their way back to their best in recent weeks.

Keigan Parker, so often criticised for playing when he is in the mood, is bang in the mood, and playing the best football of his career.

Claus Jorgensen, who has spent most of the season being frustrated on the sidelines, has had a run of games that has taken him to match fitness, and we are seeing why he has performed at a higher level.

Robbie Williams has been brought in on loan and has solved the troublesome left back position, and added another goal-scoring threat too.

Add all this to the dependability of Southern, Barker, Evatt and Jackson and it's not hard to see why the Tangerines are flying.

Tickets for the first leg at Boundary Park this Sunday, at 5.30pm, went on sale this week to season ticket holders, who have until Thursday night to claim their tickets.

Any remaining tickets go on general sale on Friday morning at 10am.

Blackpool have been allocated 3000 tickets, and another 1600 will be made available if Oldham fail to sell the adjoining section.

Tickets for the second leg, at Bloomfield Road on Saturday May 19 at noon, went on general sale on Wednesday. The final, at Wembley, takes place on Sunday May 27 at 3pm.

All tickets are available from the club ticket office, open 10am to 7pm today and tomorrow. Tel. 0870 443 1953
