KENDAL has welcomed the newest addition to the town centre - a chicken shop promising to deliver good food and make people happy.

After months of construction, Chicken Hut opened last week on April 25 at 10 Finkle Street in town.

The shop where it was once Finkle Street Fish and Chips is already proving a hit, as shown by the number of people waiting for their chicken fix throughout the day.

It offers endless options from fried chicken, to spicy wings, bucket deals, boneless meals and wrap meals with options for the younger ones.

Visitors can either sit in, takeaway or order their favourite food in the comfort of their own homes.

One of the owners Bilal Dilatmaz said the business is so far 'going really well'

Mr Dilatmaz said: "It is busy and people are happy. Kendal does not have a chicken shop. We are the first one after KFC."

The business was also recently given a five-star rating by the local inspectors from Westmorland and Furness.

"Everything is nice, clean and tidy," he said.

"They were happy with everything."

In the past, Mr Dilatmaz opened food businesses in other areas of Cumbria such as Keswick and Bowness. Now with Chicken Hut in Kendal, he hopes that people enjoy his chicken and his shop.

He said: "I hope people from Kendal like it - I want to give Kendal some good fried chicken and nice food.

"We want to give people nice food."

The plans for the future might include making pizzas available to their clients.

"I have the equipment to do them. Maybe in the future. If it is too busy we are not going to do it," concluded Mr Dilatmaz.

Chicken Hut is opened from 12pm to 11pm every day. The business is available on Kendal Eats and Deliveroo.
