Blackpool Zoo

At Blackpool Zoo, you come face to face with elephants, tigers, camels, gorillas and even... dinosaurs.
The zoo has a vast collection of wildlife from around the world, stretching from Gorilla mountain, home to these amazing, beautiful and powerful creatures as well as rare orang-utans to the two female elephants.
The Amazonia attraction is home to five species of monkey, from tiny pygmy marmosets to a colony of playful squirrel monkeys.
The huge display also includes a waterfall, more than a mile of climbing ropes for the monkeys, two miniature lakes, giant tree trunks and thousands of plants.
You can take a trip back to a land before time when dinosaurs ruled the world in the recently installed Dinosaur Safari.
You'll be able to see, hear and even smell more than 30 prehistoric creatures from the terrifying tyrannosaurus rex to terrible ptrerodactyls.
Like most zoos these days, Blackpool takes part in conservation and breeding programmes which will ensure the survival of some of our most threatened species.
You can find Blackpool Zoo opposite Stanley Park and there is plenty of free car parking available.
Alternatively, during the main summer season Blackpool Transport's No 21 bus runs from Adelaide Street, next to Pricebusters in the town centre, to the zoo.
Blackpool Zoo is open from 10am to 5.45pm (last admission 5pm) throughout the season until November.
