VIDEO: Top indie band film in Blackpool
TOP indie rockers Parka returned to their favourite resort of Blackpool to record their latest video - and you can watch the results on the Blackpool Citizen website.
The upcoming band, who hail from Scotland but are now based in London, have toured with heavyweight indie acts such as Switches, Foals, Boy Kill Boy and The Young Knives.
Parka's lead singer Matt Thomson told the Citizen how much they enjoyed revisiting Blackpool to film the video for new single Better Anyway - even on a freezing winter's day.
"Like most of my mates, the summer holidays meant one thing - Blackpool Pleasure Beach," said Matt.
"I would always count down the days, knowing that soon I'd be screaming my head off on the big dipper or losing my shoes on the grand national.
"I was always one for bright lights and amusements so getting the chance to come back to Blackpool to shoot our video, I was well up for it!
"Granted it was January and probably one of the coldest, windiest days ever, but I think the video highlights the charm and beauty Blackpool has even at that time of year!
"It was such a great video to make as there is so much life about Blackpool... now I'm looking forward to the summer to go back."
Better Anyway is released on Jeepster Records on April 21 with their debut album Attack Of The Hundred Yard Man due a fortnight later.
