England lock Courtney Lawes has been passed fit for Saturday's RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland, but Jonny May's participation hinges on an appointment with a specialist.
Lawes sustained a bruised cheekbone in the 26-24 defeat by France and was withdrawn with 13 minutes to go, but has been given the all-clear for the Murrayfield showdown.
May, winning his second cap, lasted just eight minutes in Paris until a broken nose ended his match and it could see him ruled out against the Scots.
"Jonny suffered a fracture to his nose against France and will see a specialist on Monday for further assessment," read a statement issued by the Rugby Football Union.
"A decision on his availability for selection against Scotland will be made following that examination."
Should May fail to recover in time, Anthony Watson is likely to make his debut. Another option would see Mike Brown move to the wing and Alex Goode start at full-back.
