GB move closer to Fed Cup promotion
Great Britain secured a place in Sunday's Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group I promotion play-off with a 2-1 win over Hungary in Israel.
Laura Robson and Heather Watson both won their singles matches as Britain progressed to a play-off against Bulgaria in Eilat.
Robson came back after failing to win a game in the first set to triumph 0-6 6-2 6-1 against Greta Arn, but Robson had to call on the trainer for treatment to a shoulder injury during the match, something which will be of concern to captain Judy Murray ahead of their showdown with Bulgaria.
Watson had things much more her own way as she won 6-3 6-2 over Timea Babos, who herself needed treatment for a back problem during their match.
But Robson and Johanna Konta were unable to complete a whitewash as they lost 6-4 2-6 6-2 to Reca-Luca Jani and Katalin Marosi in the doubles.
Murray said: "Today's win puts us top of Group B and sets up a promotion play-off with Group D winners Bulgaria.
"Tsvetana Pironkova, a former Wimbledon semi-finalist, is their number one so we are anticipating a tough battle.
"It was great to establish a winning lead after the singles against Hungary today although we got off to the worst possible start when Laura lost the first set 6-0.
"But she made a remarkable recovery to win in three and Heather found some of her best form to beat Timea Babos in straight sets."
Bulgaria enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Slovenia.
