Fresh from their triumph in the North of England Sevens at Birkenhead Park the previous week, Kirkham Grammar School won the 61st Fylde National School 7s at the Woodlands on Sunday when 40 schools from all over England took part in another excellent tournament held over two days at the club's Lytham St Annes base.

Mark Regan MBE squeezed a trip to the North West into his preparations for leading the Barbarians to victory over World Champions South Africa when he launched the Fylde RFC Academy at The Woodlands on Friday, November 30.
